Is this news true?

There are high chances that this is a photoshopped image.

A few days ago, Railways had announced that the number of vacancies in ALP and Technician (CEN 01/2018) are being increased from 26,502 to 60,000. Its notice was as follows.

RRB ALP Recruitment 2018

The notice says “RRBs have notified 26,502 vacancies for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technicians. In terms of Para 7 of CEN under the head “Important Instructions”, the above vacancies were provisional. These 26,502 vacancies are likely to be increased to about 60,000 vacancies. Post wise details of enhanced vacancies wil be advised on the official website of RRBs in due course. Candidates are requested to visit the official website of RRBs regularly for updates”.

As can be seen, there is an eerie similarity between the two notices. It is likely that someone has simply photoshopped the original notice of RRB ALP Vacancy Increase and changed some data to make it look like a RRB Group D Vacancy Increase.

RRB Group D 2018

For the purpose of selecting candidates, the Railways is conducting a computer based test. RRB Group D Exam Date 2018 is yet to be announced. Since exam date of ALP and Technicians are already out, and their admit cards have also been issued, therefore it is anticipated that this week RRB Group D Admit Card 2018 details could be notified with exam date schedule.

What if the news is true?

As per present vacancies, the number of candidates who will qualify for PET is 1,25,814. However if vacancies increase then the 2,27,092 candidates will qualify for the physical efficiency test. This means an 80% increase in the number of candidates who can participate in the second round.

However, candidates should wait for official notice. Until now, none of the official websites of Railway Recruitment Boards is displaying any notice on RRB Group D Vacancy Increase.
